Ironman Australia 2013
Posted on 04:20 by omprakash
What a way to end the Australian summer with a win at an event that started it all, Ironman Australia. As a 22 year old who had just finished his University degree this was where I wanted to race my first ever Ironman and I can still remember the day like it was yesterday.
Well fast forward and again Ironman Australia holds a special place in my heart for this reason and after a small injury during Ironman Melbourne I thought it was fitting to use all my fitness and head north and tackle Ironman Australia before departing for the US summer and racing season. With family and friends there it made for a fantastic weekend. To be able to share the moment with them is what it is all about, and I must say to see the joy on their faces after crossing the line was actually better than the win itself.
The weekend was very special and to be able to win Ironman Australia - Port Macquarie and share it with everyone in your home country is what I believe what 'Ironman' is all about
Please enjoy the short clip below (Vimeo) of the days experience and also the interview below thanks to www.firstoffthebike.com

Now it is time to pack the bags and head back to our second home San Diego for the summer, so I look forward to seeing you all some time very soon.
Best
